Resumen

This paper presents a preliminary study on a contactless system for estimating heart rate (BPM) and respiratory rate (RPM) using standard RGB video. Eulerian motion magnification detects subtle facial color changes for heart rate, while motion analysis with Kalman filtering enables respiratory rate detection. Validated on three subjects (ages 1824), the system achieves BPM error rates of 5.14-12.13% (mean absolute error 5.6BPM) and RPM error rates of 2.70-9.68% (MAE ≤ 2 RPM) compared to reference measurements. This low-cost, non-invasive approach shows potential for remote vital sign screening applications.
