Abstract

This article describes the process of designing and implementing a first prototype of a water level monitoring system for bridges. The article describes how the proposed solution was implemented using built-in ultrasonic sensors connected to embedded system boards. The paper also describes some preliminary results and conclusions to be considered in future works. The proposed system will allow communication between distributed monitoring units to be used in the future as a collaborative network of sensors for disaster prevention.
