Abstract

The Dark Channel Prior dehazing algorithm degrades scenes of the sky when attempting to dehaze them, ruining their quality by trying to find a solid scene that isn't present. Due to this, a simple algorithm to identify sky regions is proposed and applied in order to improve its output. The main procedure described in this paper is to replace the original image's sky region into the DCP-processed image. The result is a dehazed image through the DCP algorithm that has a natural looking sky region.
