OPEN-SOURCE FRAMEWORK FOR CLOSE-RANGE MULTISPECTRAL IMAGERY ANALYSIS APPLIED TO BANANA CROPS IN COSTA RICA

Research output: Contribution to journalConference articlepeer-review

Abstract

This paper presents an open-source framework for the analysis of close-range multispectral images with resolutions higher than 15 cm/pix. The proposed multispectral analysis methodology was applied to a 45 Ha banana farm located in Siquirres, Costa Rica, where 24 experimental circular plots with a diameter of 15 m were studied. Correlation coefficients ranging from -0.76 to -0.99 were obtained, linking vegetation indices (VIs) and vegetative/productive variables such as number of bunches, flowers, and bunch weight, over three-time intervals along an observation period of about one year.
