On-line estimation of the temperature dependent parameters of photovoltaic generators

Abstract

The following paper presents a simple on-line estimator for the temperature dependent parameters for mono-crystalline photovoltaic generators (PVG) with a fill factor close to one. The proposed estimator only requires that the electrical circuit connected to the PVG imposes a persistently exciting voltage waveform at its terminals. This behavior is actually intrinsic for switched power converters. The estimator have been validated by means of numerical simulations of a PV battery charger.
