Abstract
We present magneto-optic Kerr effect measurements of thin Fe, Pd/Fe and hydrogenated Pd/Fe bilayers and multilayers prepared by electron bombardment in UHV conditions over glass substrates. Hydrogenated bilayers and multilayers show and increase of the MOKE signal probably associated to the observed increase of the optical transmittance in hydrogenated Pd films. No antiferromagnetic coupling is observed in the Pd/Fe multiplayer. An increase in the cohersive force is observed only at pressure above 900 Torr. Thicker Pd/Fe bilayers show a linear dependence of the MOKE signal with applied magnetic field probably due to the roughness of the samples.
