N2 - Transformerless topologies offer a promising solution for high-power, efficient Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers, but their practical implementation requires rigorous pre-prototyping validation using risk-mitigation tools such as real-time simulation and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing. Therefore, this paper presents a HIL validation of a transformerless EV charger regulated by a cascaded control structure based on proportional-integral (PI) controllers. Using an HIL platform with a real-time power stage emulator and a dedicated digital controller, the performance of the proposed EV charger is evaluated under various dynamic conditions. The results confirm the effectiveness of the control strategy, which achieves precise output voltage regulation, stable operation during load transients, and low-distortion grid currents.
