Project Details
Description
This project focuses on evaluating and strengthening the current state of research in computing education in Costa Rica. It arises from the need to create an active community of researchers in this field to bridge the gaps caused by the lack of local and regional research. The project is structured in two main parts: the first part involves identifying the current state of research in computing education in Costa Rica and areas with potential for research, which will be developed with student participation. The second part involves conducting specific research in the area of computing education to exemplify the value of such studies. Specifically, the perceptions of students and teachers about the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence for programming and other computing-related tasks will be investigated. This project represents an initial stage that aims to lay the foundation for future research in computing education, allowing the development of independent projects in this area in the future. This study will enable a better understanding of the current and future landscape of computing education in Costa Rica, significantly contributing to the academic and professional development of the country.
