Since 2020, the Escuela de Arquitectura y Urbanismo (EAU) of TEC has led research projects aimed at improving the management of conservation processes of buildins with cultural value. With the first project, executed between the first semester of 2020 and the second semester of 2021, a protocol was proposed for the formulation of programmed conservation plans (PCP); this protocol suggests the use of innovative technology to be able to manage the monitoring cycles proposed in a PCP. It is at this point that the EAU, together with the Escuela de Ingeniería en Computación (of the Campus Tecnológico Local San José), Diseño Industrial and Ingeniería en Construcción and the Conservation Department of the Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica (TNCR), proposed to generate, between the second semester of 2022 and the second semester of 2024, the baseline of a possible digital twin (DT), applied to the foyer and smokers of the TNCR, which has the minimum technical and information requirements for its feasible development.
During the development of the project “Digital twin as a management tool for the programmed conservation plan. Case study: foyer and smoking rooms of the National Theater of Costa Rica” the research team identified opportunities for improvement in the structure of the PCP, according to the existing information of the case study, therefore, the present research proposal proposes the restructuring of the PCP based on the technical requirements for the development of a communicative type digital twin with interactive functionalities.
The vulnerability analysis applied to the case study is also contemplated, the results of which will allow the prioritization of the variables. The results of this analysis will be graphically integrated into a three-dimensional model, with a knowledge level of LOK 200, with all the spaces of the TNCR.
In addition, it is intended to design a guide for the preparation and systematization of the minimum information required in the monitoring phase of a PCP, so that the people in charge of the conservation of properties with cultural value can structure the necessary data to implement a digital twin tool.

Diseñar el protocolo para la preparación y sistematización de la información mínima de la fase de monitoreo del plan de conservación programada, según las especificaciones de requerimientos de un gemelo digital de tipo comunicativo con funcionalidades interactivas, permitiendo su implementación en un futuro desarrollo tecnológico.
