Project Details
Description
As a consequence of the national educational deterioration resulting from the so-called "educational blackout" and the repercussions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, various social actors are demanding immediate action to improve the quality of education, especially in preschool, primary, and secondary education. It is known that the aforementioned problems affect highly vulnerable areas to a greater extent, whether due to ethnic hegemony, agricultural dependence, or other geographical characteristics.
Therefore, there is an identified opportunity to work together with the Regional Mathematics Advisory of the Los Santos Zone, part of the Ministry of Public Education (MEP), to contribute to strengthening the academic training of teachers through continuous improvement projects in primary education. To achieve this, it is expected that five professional development modules will be developed that will enable teachers in this area to undertake work in mathematics for the first and second cycles. All of the above aims to address the specific needs of this region, which has a high rate of students coming from households with low levels of education2
