Jornada Participativa para la valoración del diseño de servicios turísticos de las Pymes y MiPymes en el cantón de Paraíso de la provincia de Cartago, durante los meses de enero a diciembre de 2025.

The canton of Paraíso, according to the Competitiveness Index (2023), is in an emerging
development, which requires providing SMEs and MSMEs that offer tourist services, with
tools that allow them to guarantee visitors the best response to their needs, desires and
expectations.
For this reason, this activity will continue the work carried out in 2023 by the Sustainable
Tourism Management degree in the canton of Paraíso, called Participatory Workshops on
the perception of local social actors for tourism development in the canton of Paraíso, of the
province of Cartago. It determined the potential that the canton has in increasing the stay of
the tourist by more than 24 hours, the existence of a positive perception about the
development and actions that must be taken to improve conditions from the public-private
articulation.
Therefore, it is necessary to link the academic programs of Sustainable Tourism
Management and Industrial Design Engineering to carry out a more comprehensive
approach to the Participatory Workshop. Progress will be made in the perception of tourism
development in the canton through the assessment of the tourism services provided by
SMEs and MSMEs that were identified in the first activity, thanks to the application of service
design management in tourism.
