The Water Users Society (SUA) of the Sanatorio Durán project consists of a group of horticultural producers operating in the northern zone of Cartago. They stand out for their very fertile soils with great drainage capacity. Crops such as potatoes, carrots, onions, and strawberries are grown on an area of 39.83 hectares (86.5 acres) consisting of 42 management units.

These crops, grown in such beneficial soil conditions, express their maximum potential with proper water use and irrigation. This is an area with a great opportunity for producers' management improvements. This identified need will allow for the development and implementation of a management tool to assist them in resource management so that their crops achieve their best yields

Therefore, it will be addressed through the integration of each of the management unit's information, to establish specific irrigation systems on each of the plots and with the objective of establishing the necessary automation parameters to design the water management model through precision irrigation techniques for subsequent implementation in the field through experimental plots and of the Sanatorio Durán, with this end in Stage III of technological integration and management in the Society of Water Users (SUA) of the Sanatorio project
