Description

Agricultural systems require technological advances for the optimization of natural resources. Collaboration between academia and the productive sector is necessary. The general objective of this project is to strengthen the agricultural systems of small and medium-sized producers through training, accompaniment and promotion of zootechnical practices and biotechnologies for the assisted reproduction of livestock species in four regions of Costa Rica. The regions will be the Huetar Norte, Huetar Atlántica, Chorotega and Brunca. Extensionists from the Costa Rica Institute of Technology, and entities such as the Corporación Ganadera (CORFOGA) and FARYVET S.A. The target population will be producers of agricultural systems (cattle and pigs). The project will be addressed through the diagnosis of current zootechnical management and the use of reproductive biotechnologies of agricultural systems in these regions, spaces for the transfer of technical information and use of biotechnologies for the agricultural sector will be promoted through training and participatory courses for an impact of at least 400 people related to agricultural production. Also, participatory action will be carried out through field days and extension of agricultural biotechnologies through the transfer of technology. The socialization of the results will be carried out through open access dissemination journals for producers, as well as a final report seminar aimed at the productive, professional and student sectors. The participation of active students will allow the development of at least one degree thesis
