Abstract
Innovation increases companies' competitiveness. The evidence is clear. Therefore, research on the innovative capacity of companies is a relevant topic. In this context, innovative capacity is understood as the ability to continuously transform knowledge and ideas into new products, processes, and systems for the benefit of the company and its stakeholders. Accordingly, the objective of this proposal is to analyze which factors influence the innovative capacity of small and medium-sized industrial companies in Costa Rica. The methodology will involve elements of a qualitative and quantitative nature. The aim is to generate knowledge for policymakers on the subject, the academic community, as well as the companies
