Description

Quality certifications are a seal of assurance for organizations and a fundamental pillar in terms of competitiveness, as they provide evidence of compliance with the quality requirements of their products and processes. These quality certifications are issued to companies as a result of third-party evaluation processes.
In recent years, studies have been conducted with INTECO client companies to identify the reasons why companies are opting to reduce their demand for third-party evaluation services, without any substantial objective reason that could identify internal improvement opportunities.
One assumption from evaluators regarding the reduction of third-party conformity assessment services is the adoption and adaptation of technological tools within companies. These tools are replacing traditional evaluation processes, giving rise to internal organizational systems that allow for self-assessment, reducing operational costs and reaction times to identified findings.
Given this, it remains highly relevant to understand the evolutionary behavior of conformity. Will these new solutions be a substitute, a complement, or isolated solutions? Or will certification processes need to change their evaluative foundation and incorporate platforms that facilitate controls and adapt to innovation? Industry 4.0 technologies, such as artificial intelligence, advanced robotics, the Internet of Things, additive manufacturing, big data analytics, and cloud computing, are reshaping how we live, consume, produce, and even evaluate ourselves to increase market share. However, this also poses a risk in the creation and updating of national public policies as new models for quality conformity assurance emerge.
Within the framework of advanced technological development and the rise of artificial intelligence, uncertainty arises in INTECO's management processes, as the correct path for third-party evaluation systems to remain competitive in the face of new technologies and the efficiency of self-assessment processes remains unknown.

General Objective

Determinar si la evaluación de conformidad de tercera parte de los sistemas de gestión sigue siendo un elemento de valor para las empresas o si será sustituido por el uso y aplicación de nuevas tecnologías para evidenciar el cumplimiento de los estándares en la industria.
