Description

This is a study with a quantitative approach that seeks to address the inclusive education of university students with disabilities from a teaching perspective. It will analyze the relationship between knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) of teachers on the inclusive education of students with disabilities in the university context. The phases of the study include the design of an instrument that evaluates the variables through items using a Likert-type scale, which will be validated with expert judges.
Based on the research results, affirmative actions can be developed for the admissions, permanence and graduation of students with disabilities. In addition, it will allow the design and adjustment of educational interventions, as well as the training plan for teaching staff, impacting the effectiveness of the methodologies and application of educational supports for students with disabilities who study STEM careers at the ITCR.
Furthermore to this, the results of this study will provide the scientific community with a model that will allow identifying the KAPs associated with the inclusive treatment of students with disabilities at the university level, and this could be copied by public or private universities to improve academic attention and decision making regarding evidence-based training programs that promote inclusive treatment of the student population with disabilities.
