Research interests

Full Professor in the School of Biology at the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica. She teaches applied microbiology and bacteriology courses to students in the Biotechnology Engineering program. She conducts research projects at the Center for Biotechnology Research. Her most recent publications focus on the genetic regulation of virulence and adaptation to intracellular life in bacterial pathogens such as Brucella abortus, as well as on the phenotypic, molecular, and genomic characterization of Listeria spp. Her current research interests are centered on the exploitation of microbial systems in environmental and productive contexts.
