Personal profile

I am a Forestry Engineer from the Costa Rica Institute of Technology (ITCR), with a Master's degree in Natural Resource Management specializing in Biodiversity Management from the National Distance Education University (UNED), and a PhD in Biodiversity from the University of Barcelona. Currently, I work as a professor and researcher at the School of Forestry Engineering at the Costa Rica Institute of Technology, with over 20 years of professional and teaching experience in undergraduate and graduate courses such as Conservation Biology, Protected Area Management, Ecological Foundations for Conservation, Biological Invasions, and the Ecology of Plant-Animal Interactions. My work has focused on the study of the ecology of natural landscapes, habitat fragmentation and connectivity, plant community assembly, and biodiversity conservation in forest ecosystems.
